The Betcast Ledger: Football Futures Watch, August 24, 2026

Welcome to the bet cast ledger. We are back another week. Another episode And I'm here to Report, I'm here to Take you inside to the sports, gambling, podcast, world, and tell you what they're thinking about.

Tell you what their picks are yapping about. In today's one of my favorite type reports, which is the futures Do you know how much I love futures? I know how much you love futures because Every kind of podcast I know is dealing our futures right now.

Telling you who's going to win this division telling you who's going to go over now is the time as we lead up. To football season. For the picks are going to start raining down.

Raining down, and I'm here to track those And then bring them to you, bring them to life, bring the data to life. That's why I'm here. I'm your Reporter.

And As I said. We got a dozy, a dozy futures, we got 5 Futures that I'm going to kind of deep dive into because 10 or more podcasts Have supported. Those 10 or more across each one, some more 12.

Okay, we got 37 podcasts that are featured in this report and we're gonna give out 4 honors as a part of that report. And like I said, we'll get into that. Like I said, we're going to focus on 5 Okay.

Father, the consensus. But before we Before we bring that up before we get into The report, which is maybe why you're here, just hold on, don't worry, we'll get there. But I wanted to talk about The application a little bit and kind of just hone in on what betcast really is, and we're in data product.

I just want to be clear. There are other things that are a part A bag has, but at its core. At the heart, at the central Is the data data analyzation, data aggregation data collecting That is what betcast is at its core.

And I'm going to show you some numbers here. Express, some numbers, show some numbers, talk about some of the numbers of what we're tracking of what we're gathering. And what are we gathering pics?

What data are we collecting pigs? That's important. You look all over Twitter, you look over ESPN you look at the sports ecosystem, the sports gambling ecosystem, and everybody's who, whenever you watch a game that the people that are broadcasting, right, there are just saying who you got today, Terry.

I got I'm picking now, they're giving you props. Is this receiver gonna get 85 yd over under picks? Our gold Picks.

Are what is being expressed spouted out by everyone? Okay, and what we're doing at bedcast is Taking those pigs. Tagging them organizing them, parsing them, validating them.

And then ultimately, you get to see was the pick, good or bad, and then we aggregate that day together to create leaderboards to create podcasts, profile pages. All that it's fed from the data that we're tracking Okay, hi, I could just have an API of just the data. And the wins or the losses I can just expose the validated bets, and you could build your own UI, maybe 1 day who knows, you can build your own UI over top of validated picks.

Once the picks get settled, you can build your own UI over settled picks. Yeah, maybe there's an endpoint that gives you all the settled picks. As an example, I've just Built my own UI over top Of this day to gathering, are you eye that where you can build a betting card with validated picks?

And it has some nice features, like it checks the odds Those and fetches the polymarket, it matches it. It gives you a confidence score. So there's a lot of things that go with the betting card that have built on top of the data.

And then, of course, I have a profile page for every podcast. You don't have to create it, you don't gotta log in and be like, hey, I want to create a profile page. I'm gonna put my name and all this.

No, it's all done automatically. You don't nothing but Your voice, your pigs, that's what gives you a profile. The moment you start giving picks for a sport that I'm tracking.

You gotta be brought into the to the ecosystem. And they were going to start tracking those pigs. And then validating those pics, and then settling them That's what we do, data, gathering data information, and what is the source I'm not, I'm not getting picks from Twitter, or I'm sorry X.

I'm not scraping eggs, because there's a bunch I mean, you could search. I used to actually do this, I would go into Twitter, and I would be like, what are the best picks for I don't know the bingles Vs The Vikings, something like that. And I'll see a whole bunch of to it.

Oh, this is my parlor, oh, my gosh. There's no, so that's not the source. The source that we Have plugged into is a sports gambly podcast.

Those are my sources. Those are the picks That we're tracking. For everyone.

This is brand new, like, I said, data gathering that has not been done before at this scale. And I'm actually going to show you the scale, because this number here, let's just get into it. Yeah, this This is how many pics we've extracted, and the more I think about this, I think I'm going to have a page a page on the application.

That is going to basically show hey, these are the amount of picks that we've extracted. Right now, we're at 21725, that's about 4 pics per episode. So every time.

A new episode is discovered. We get that Transcript, we're getting on average. 4 pigs From that episode.

So Yeah, I think I'm gonna have a page up. That's like This is out because this is gonna grow to 25000 30000 at 1. It's gonna be a million, that's gonna be wild, I cannot.

I wanted to celebrate. I'm gonna do some fun. The episode where we get to the lifetime pick rose extracted, and they decide to it's had a million oh.

Oh, man, that's that'll be the day, that'll be the day, but I'm gonna have it, I'm gonna add this to the. I'm gonna add this to To the site. But we've gotten 21700 And 25.

Picks. Across what? Over 500 podcasts.

That's a lot, and it's going to keep growing, because I'm growing. I have a mission. It is betc mission to track as many sports, and as many picks across as many podcast.

As possible? In order to do that, you gotta have a system in place. That does this?

I don't want to be I mean, this is a system I built? That Is automated? That has very little human interaction.

And it's constantly working And I'm only making it better. To where I'm really just judging very little men, very little. I'm just like A Like a judge on the top of a if you had the movie scene, you have the big, he's like, only bring me only.

What's you know, you got the system has to get these picks. Extract these picks validate these picks. Zoom out, just a little bit, settle these picks.

That has to be that has to be a smooth machine. Has to be? Of course, there are some hiccups, which is what we're gonna kind of showcase here before we get into the futures report.

But I wanna hone in On the sheer amount of picks, like 21000 in counting In counting. Okay, added that 21000 we validated it close to 10000

So

That's That's good. That's good. Now of course.

Not all of these 21 picks are to be validated, so if we kind of go down here. Only 65% of those pigs. About our Eligible to be validated.

Okay, 6535% of those of that, 21000. They're not meant to be settled, they're not meant to be validated. They are futures, which is what we're going to report on today and they are sports that we don't track and we'll see at the bottom here we got some a little bit more detailed information, but If you think about it like betcast, we are aggregating data.

What data are we aggregating? Picks, what is the source of the pigs, sports gambling, podcast? Once you gather a pick, what are you doing with it?

Well, we're making sure it's valid. We're validating it invalidation at a high high level is really just determining. If there's if if the players are legitimate, if the game like, if it says Patrick mahomes.

Are the cheese Vs the red? The Raiders. I want to make sure that's a legitimate game.

So there has to be some sort of validation, because AI and LLM Is actually Processing the Transcript. That's how we're getting the picks, that's how we are getting those 4 picks per episode. And so, yes, I have it set up so that it outputs a nice parsed, Jason object.

That then can go through the validation process. So 35% of that, 21000 Okay, they're not their futures, their sports. We don't track, but 65%.

So a big chunk of that 65%. Is data that we must validate? So it's not, it's a it's data gathering, but it's also validation.

And you gotta understand each pit comes with a lot of metadata. A lot, the podcast source, the quote within the podcast, it has the bet. It has the confidence score.

It has all kinds of stuff. Tagged it along with it. So we keep track of it along the way.

So like I said out of the 21000 that we've extracted 65%. Need to get validated. So if you look at that 65%, we've validated successfully 55% of those Of those pigs, 55%, and I don't want to just throw a bunch of numbers.

That's why I'm trying to use percentages here. To try to make it easy to digest, you know, but no I do want to, but I also want to express The actual data here, I mean, we're a data gathering. Product And so it's important that we look at some of the numbers, so 55% out of that.

I will say 14000 Are settled? And then 45% of those We have to triage, we have to Validate them and then, of course, settle them. So I think that.

It's a little fun and important to talk about This number here, this 45% that That we need to to validate And that's another thing that's another. That's AA separate system that I'm building to to legitimately focus on this this box right here, this number right here. This It's 45% right here.

Is most important is priority number one for bedcast. That's the number that I want to get down down 4000 3000 2000 Really? To almost 1%, that's the goal that's what we're trying to get.

And the more this Goes down, then. The more this number goes down, which is needs a human. That number will eventually dwindle and dwindle.

So it's not, this is about data gathering, but it's about building a system, a living and breathing system that's constantly data fetching. Okay, that's constantly. Extracting, that's constantly Validating And then once a bet is validated, then it's waiting for it to be settled.

And once it's able to be settled boom, it settles, and then it's finished. It's finished. And then we attribute that information back to the podcast, but Back to this number here.

This 45% this 6393. Picks that we gotta get to. Let's take a look at And I'll zoom in here, let's take a look at Why?

We're having some issues with them. So One thing, one big thing. Yes We, it's too ambiguous as to which game that that's the biggest That's the most chunk.

Out of that. We'll just say 6000 Is that we can't actually identify the game because it may match more than one And I have a hunch, a lot of those are Major League Baseball picks, because there's back-to-back, there's double headers, and the system can get confused sometimes on which game it actually associates with, especially by the time that it processes it. It may have, it may have been a game that's already been played, but that same team is playing maybe right at that time for validation and it can't determine which one, so if there's any serious level of ambiguity.

Then We don't want to match it. We don't want to match it. The next one is the bet text was too messy to read.

So that's just basically Saying that? It couldn't actually Determine what the bet was. Okay, so we can't Validate a bet if we can't actually determine that it's a real, a real bet that's part of the validation.

The next thing Is confined the game on a schedule? So we have I have a one thing I do is I store in the database. I have schedules that we pull and I have a script that goes out and gets a schedule uploaded to the database so that's one source so I have kind of multiple because if the schedules it has kind of you know, layers within when it's looking for the schedule because of first check the database, okay.

So is there a schedule? Is there an event in the database that matches this bet? Okay?

No okay, well, let's go check the odds API oh no, what about ESPN, can we find this bet on ESPN? No And then we may ask Perplexity, I keep a Perplexity. Sort of last.

Bit, but I don't want Perplexity to make the decision I just want Perplexity to give insight so that we can gather some sort of confidence score. Because, you know, AI can sometimes make a mistake. And so Maybe Perplexity asks, oh.

Is this can we find the schedule? And if it kind of misses all those checks, then it makes itself here. And so I won't go into each.

There's only 2 more but I want to kind of move on. To so we're looking at the bucket that You know, it's most important to our data system, which is bets that Need to be validated can be validated, which can add to settlement, which increases the data for What we have in our leaderboards in our rankings in the podcast profile pages, but the other piece, the 35% that's out of scope. Okay, so 35% of that, 21000.

Known problems either their futures It's really three things that is going to be Or I should say, well, 22 big ones. But it's really kind of broke up into three things, the way I think about it, which is like you're gonna have markets that we just don't support like a lot of soccer markets. We don't support Yet.

Right now, we just support the basic kind of win-loss draw. Spreads over under stuff like that. Parlays, that we, so whenever we get a parlay bit Sort of segment, each leg of the parlay, and each leg itself has to get validated.

So

If there's a market that we don't support within the parlay, then the whole parlay, unfortunately, gets put into this bucket. I think there's golf markets that we don't support. And sports Museum in a little bit here.

And so, yeah, out of that. 21000 number, which, like I said, I'm gonna put this, I'm gonna put this number in counting. So everybody knows how many picks that we have extracted, and the number will grow it will grow and what I'm hoping that It doesn't grow, which is this number Of bets that cannot become settled.

Along with this number, which are bets that can't get validated, I hope that number goes down. And then, of course As I said, it's the mission, it's betcast mission to track every sport right now. There's 5 sports.

We're not tracking Which is why it's in that 35% cause we 're deliberately not tracking these sports, which is NASCAR Horse Racing tennis F1, Andy, I need to get on that F1. It's a big It's big time, but NASCAR, look at many picks NASCAR and then Australian football league AFL.

And so

You know, that's part of the bedcast's mission is to get as many picks from as many sports, and these are picks that we're missing out on, but I'm keeping them for when I do implement. You know, some sort of logic and code Around these sports And also the same thing with the markets as I want this number to decrease decrease. Now, the futures You know, that's just gonna, I'm not going to settle futures, I want.

I kind of want to keep futures in its own, and maybe I'll take it may actually be, it may actually be better to extract the the futures and kind of keep it in its own category and just focus on what's actually an excluded market. Although futures is a market but it's like it's look how many there's over 5000 futures there, and by the way, that piggybacks right into the report, which is I've out of that, think about this. I'd have 5296.

Futures. That we've extracted. I've dual it down to 5 That include the biggest cluster of podcasts around these 5 pigs.

And so

In doing that. We can get a little bit of insight on maybe what's the best future to put your money on What's the best future to maybe? Parlay, with Because like I said, the futures ticket is just It's just too much fun, but before we get in a report, just again, 21000 lifetime picks, we've extracted the number we'll keep growing.

And It's just that time. I mean, the NFL is a couple of weeks away. College football's a week away.

Every podcast is giving you their futures pic, so We wanted to just peel back. Looking to the bucket of data And deliver to you Where the cluster is what all the podcast, sports, sports gambling podcasts. Top-ranked some not ranked, but Who where where's the consensus?

Where's the consensus? For our favorite sport here in America Football. Now Before we actually dive into the top 5 I want to give a couple honors, not a couple 4 to be specific.

The Houston Texans and I actually like this a lot I like this, I mean, they went 12, and 5 last year. Their defense is basically coming back all of the whole defense. They got a running back upgrade.

I think I don't, oh man. You play for cleave, and I can't even think of his name. Oh, it's blanking me.

But he's gone, he was not very productive. And I think the NFC, I'm sorry, the AFC south is weak, so this is this is a bet. This is one of my favorite, not I mean, I not only do the podcast, and the data, and the consensus say this is number one, but I personally.

And thinking about Roddy, this bad I definitely got a parlay with some stuff. Um, number two. We got the Cincinnati bangles to win the Super Bowl, and I gotta say This is my, this is my third futures report.

Yeah My third I think so. But man We've seen Joe burrow, MVP pop-up on the consensus board. We've seen The Cincinnati Bang goes to win the north, come up.

And now, and now we're getting the Cincinnati, Bengals to win the Super Bowl 12 shows. Are backing this one2, just like number one. We have one of the features here.

2 pros and a cup a Joe bet on it. We got 9 more here we got 4 progress shopping bulldog. So People seem to like it.

I mean They start slow. They went 6 and 11 last year. I mean, that's a big jump to go 6 and 11 and then to win the Super Bowl, why I got a tough schedule.

Oh, this is a funny. This is a funny, funny thumbnail, they got. I love it, I love it.

I don't have any pics for him yet. Got some futures pics, but Okay, baking bets. You got the chargers.

You know they haven't won. The AFC west in 16 years, 16 years As I would have to drive baby old enough to drive right on out of the division because you're not gonna win it, I'm just playing. I don't know that.

I don't think they will I mean, they got Mike McDaniels, that's a plus he may get up to a slow start trying to implement his he's. You know what, he does, precision precision? But you know, you got Kansas City in that division, you got Denver, in that division, they're not going anywhere.

You know, so that's a tough one. But there it is 10 podcasts, like it now to number five, we got the Indianapolis Colts. Over.

Over 7 and a 1/2 Yeah, I like I mean It's not a bad bet, we got 10 podcasts. 2 features, sports gaming podcast network, the early edge The Ringer again. Football picks bacon Betsy all like it.

And you know, hey It's not the worst bet, not the funnest bet at -140 I probably would parlay, that I mean, they opened up the season with Baltimore. That's a loss I'm telling you right now, bucket bucket, Baltimore is beating them week, 1A 100%. But to conclude, just gonna sprinkle in a couple From college football.

Missouri, under 6 and a 1/2 Duke, over 5 and a 1/2 Oh, miss, over 7 and a 1/2. Now, each of those include, they don't have the 10 11 12, you know, podcasts, podcast consensus, but they got at least a featured show. A ranked podcast, and I guess the most interesting one is probably the old Miss the line has moved.

So when when when this was first aggregated, it was that 7 and a 1/2, it's Already at 8 and a 1/2 And so That means people like this old Miss team, if it goes up, you might have to go and get the under. And then To close out the report, we got 2 Futures that were just backed by one show won by a ranked show, and one by a non rank show. And that's New Mexico State under 4 and a 1/2 a sports gambly podcast network that only showed about that.

Then, then we got the Arizona State to make the college football playoff, which is backed by the locker room guys. College sports, gambling, entertainment lifestyle. You are the only ones on that island baby.

But I actually like that bit. I like the Arizona state bet, I'm not a big college guy, but I like the odds on that. They won the big 12, not long ago from what I understand.

And reports say that that reports say that they was hitting the transfer portal That was getting good at the transfer reporter. So maybe that's a fun one to take Well. That concludes a report.
